Just got in a set of trex xb case sliders and overall I would say I am very disappointed. Brackets are made of strong steel plate about .400" thickness.( plus side to the sliders) The brackets are also machined with a lot of tool marks. Right bracket lined up and fit, but the left bracket was out of spec, and couldn't be mounted without danger of stripping the screws, in the primary case. Paint job had, dust specks, runs. In comparison to other xb case sliders the TREX sliders were well designed and thought out, but the overall fitment and finish. Its to bad because they look they could really provide some protection for the xb, if only they could make them better quality. Xxx, weren't you the one that was giving Doz crap about his products, yet you hadn't tried either of the products? What the hell? It seemed like you worked for T-rex yet you are giving them a crappy review!? |

You can see the quality from there ebay pics, if you enlarge the pic and look closely. As for the bolt strength or anchoring points at the case covers, once you remove the bolts and see how flimsy they really are. You have to wonder if its even a good idea to anchor any sliders to the engine covers. In the long run, your probably better off just getting a stunt cage for the engine if your really worried about dropping it or just simply let the timing cover and primary cover act as sacrificial contact points. Which would you rather have to replace after an accident, the entire engine if the cases sliders damage the cases ? Or a primary cover and oil cooler for the left slide or timing cover and exhaust header for right side crashes. (Message edited by xxxue on May 25, 2012) |
