My bike has head a weird occurrence for as long as I can remember that happens at random times. It will lose power, say 15-20 percent, up until 4,000rpm, where it will suddenly come back to full strength. Has always bothered me but happened rarely and never made the bike unridable (unless I was riding at a spirited pace). Starting yesterday though the problem has been much worse, with the bike suddenly cutting off power and then abruptly returning it, and only in this 2,500-4,000rpm range. As you can imagine, its quite startling and dangerous, especially when driving out of corners. Possible problems? Fuel system needs cleaning (best product to use?)? Sensor failure? How would I check this and which would it most likely be? Other...? |

I'm hoping this isn't the same issue I was having as mine was/is related to real clutch problems. I have mine in the shop right now originally hoping it would be done when I got back from vacation, but another issue was discovered. I'll be updating my thread soon: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/384 2/675482.html As I think back I do seem recall a few times out on the highway when my RPMs starting acting a bit odd when at a constant speed on a flat road. I don't know if that might have been the first indicators of the clutch issues I'm dealing with now. I hope that isn't your problem, but thought I would let you know because when mine actually died ... it left me stranded. |

ECM placement and mounting, causes Ulysses models have problems with cracked solder joints in the ECM. Try removing the mounting hardware for the ECM and run the bike like that. You may have to wrap some foam around the ECM to keep it safe. |
