I have a crack around almost half of one of my stock XB header pipes. Can this be effectively welded, such as maybe MIG Welded? |

yes You just need to make sure they don't warp or bend with the heat. (Message edited by trojan on May 03, 2012) |

You really should take them to a performance exhaust shop. They'll be familiar with thin-gage stainless exhaust welding. About $50 for the job (or less) (realized that Guam might not be as full of performance exhaust speed shops as the US metro areas) |

I suggest tig welding them. A tig weld is softer and less likely to break again. Matt |

Any idea why they cracked? |

Yeah they can be welded. I just put some o2 bungs in mine while the header is off so its easier to get the a/f on the Dyno. |

So often they can crack because they're improperly installed. You really must loosely "hang" all the parts and pieces and then start tightening so you don't have any one mount or joint put stress into the whole exhaust. |
