Option 1: Red/orange 2004 XB12R, 3000 miles, Jardine exhaust, race map, new Dunlops, other than that, pretty stock. Comes with a few extras like ECM cable, gasket set, etc. Still has all the warning stickers on it, but is a little dirty and there is some oxidation on the aluminum (heads, etc), and a small dent in the header. $4200 and within 2 hours of me. Option 2: Black/orange 2006 XB12R, 3700 miles, gutted stock exhaust, race map, slotted air box, heat shield mods (under seat, under airbox, frame, etc), high flow air filter, new Dunlops, HIDs, Rizoma LED signals, comes with service manual, and a few extras like ECM cable, oil filters, gaskets, etc. It has some dings and scrapes on primary cover from shifter during a tipover, srapes on top of swingarm from passenger boots, cracked headlight bezel (new ones are like 30 bucks), some rusty hardware here and there, filled and welded pegs (broken in another tip over), rattle can painted chin fairing (to get rid of the grey), body is in beautiful shape though. $4100 and is more than 4 hours from me. Just curious what you think? I used to have an 04 12S and am not sure how much better if any a 2006 is. I know they have upgraded transmissions, swing arms, and DDFI2 vs DDFI1. |

Didn't mean to click on that box. I'm CGOCIFER. Just noticed that... Using my Droid with a stupid touch screen. I clicked all kinds of crap initially... (Message edited by cgocifer on April 23, 2012) |

I know, I'm kicking myself for selling that. I sold it for $4400 back in 2008... :-( |

Truth be told I would go with the one that has fewer mods and the least crash damage. |

Both out. Still on the hunt... The 04 had a deep knock and I wasn't sure if I remembered that from mine. I searched around and found posts from the owner about thinking he may have to tear down the motor because of noises. Right before the ad was posted, he said he traced it to a cracked header flange, welded it, and all was good. Hmmmm. Not gonna risk it. Man, prices have gone up instead of down. Back in 2006 I bought my bada$$ XB12S with 1200 miles on it for $4200. I can't find anything worth while for that kind of low cash. Dan |

Froggy you need to give up a few of those cycles. That Uly was a steal, man would I like to have that for my commute. |

Ended up picking up a 2006 with less than 6k miles with crap plastics but in otherwise good condition, special ops pipe, gel grips, brand new corbin seat, newer tires with a 190 rear for 4300. Not bad considering the goodies. Going to do full maintenance myself, chang the brake fluid, new pads on the front, and I ordered a set of new oem plastics. Making it a creamsicle buell. Got a good deal on the plastics from lshd. |
