I thought about going with a K and N air filter. What are the performance gains if any. Does it hurt hp and torque. Currently I have the swiss cheese air box, Hawk slip on, and breather reroute. I thought the k and n may be a good investment sicne they are only about 40 bucks. | ||

I bought a K&N for my 2008 Uly and didn't really notice anything different. I didn't install it for performance reasons though. I love being able to wash and re-oil the things. One warning if you decide to go that route: Check the inside of the filter for little chunks of the wire screen. I remembered reading of someone that found several little wire segments jammed inside the filter waiting to pop out into the engine. Indeed, when I inspected mine, I found two little wire segments which I removed with needle nose pliers before installing the filter. I don't thing they would have come out under normal circumstances but it's good for peace of mind. |
