Hey all. Just got new pads and rotors. After installing the front ones the brake is rubbing quite a bit. struggling to find the cause. Could the brake need to be bleed/blead |

Also one of the pads appears slightly thicker than the other. |

You are most likely getting stiction in your pistons, which usually happens with new pads. Because the pistons have been more exposed in their travel, and now your seals are trying to seal against that dirty surface of the pistons that were previously exposed. Clean them real good, and work them in and out to hopefully free them up. |

Also, have you bed the new pads to the rotor? |

Bike has not been ridden yet just moves around the garage. The pistons go in quite easily pushed them in with my thumbs. Cracked the front bleeder open and some fluid and air came out. Im thinking this could be the problem. Has anyone done a gravity type bleed on these brakes and if so how did it work? |

Has anyone done a gravity type bleed on these brakes and if so how did it work? When I put the ZTL2 front brake on my Uly-XT, just as I poured brake fluid in the master cylinder, my friends said "It's lunchtime!". So off we went to get some grub after I cracked open the bleeder screw. After lunch we came back and found the front brake pretty well bled. I still did a few cycles of normal, manual bleeding afterwards, but I was pretty darn impressed how well they took to a gravity bleed. One data point, 1313 |
