saw the sx in person today and other than the hand guards and headlight grill, the cosemtic look of the bike is pretty cool looking. The black and the blue looks real good and the seat is something that will make most riders butt happy and taller riders will love the fact that you can postion yourself better.

it also allows you to slide back on the seat easier if you wanted to tuck in a little.

and BTW the xb9's I guess now come stock with the 12 airbox, so I guess it really does work. hhmmmm

but I still feel the marketing and calling it a city crosser is just a flat out joke. It is mainly a cool looking xb9s, which we all know is a very cool bike.

and another BTW, I was looking at hd of b-towns race bike yesterday and on the stock rear rim we are running a 195/80 reart dunlop slick. and it didn't looked pinched on the rim at all. if fact it looked like a very good fit. So if some were thinking about going larger on the rear tire to a 190 I guess that could be done with out any adverse affects.

But as always when I am wrong after I have gone over board maybe a little I admit it.
Just don't tell me its a city crosser.

I'm with you on that "city crosser" stuff. My '00 Blast was more of a "city crosser" in almost every way Buell is marketing the XB9Sx.

The XB9S doesn't come alive until it hits 3,000 rpm's and I need to get away from the city to really appreciate the bike.

But, marketing might bring more Buell riders to the fold, and might even convince a few more magazine reviewers of the quality of the XB line.

Maybe the 12 TB helps the low end?
Time will tell.

"...and BTW the xb9's I guess now come stock with the 12 airbox, so I guess it really does work. hhmmmm..."

Interesting. Well, re-assuring... I just put a 12 cover on order along with the performance plugs & air filter. (not looking for or expecting major gains - just want to let the stock config breathe and be all that it can & should be...)

Are you sure it has the 12 TBs? The Buell website says it still has 45mm, not the 49mm TBs of the 12.

45 mm down draft DDFI II fuel injection

49 mm down draft DDFI II fuel injection

Straight from the website. No mention of the changed TBs on the Features page either. I think that reveiw got it wrong. Also looking at my service manual the TB my 2004 has is one piece.

fwit i think that a larger TB will help the top, not the bottom, assuming enough air is available.

Sorry, I meant to say FWIW, ie 'For What Its worth', not something potentially insulting.

Well, then, Martin, FWIW, you can edit your posts ; ) ...click the little notebook icon in the upper right hand corner, log in, and you can edit things instead of posting again. You can also delete posts by clicking the red X notebook.
