I received a 2005 Firebolt service manual (and parts catalog) with my new bike which I recently found out is actually a 2005 Lightning. Question, other then the locations & images of some things, how much different is it really? Such as suspension settings, torque specs, engine maintenance, etc. Oh, yes, I'll trade with somebody if you'd like. Thank you! |

Normally the suspension is the same, but you have the SCG suspension, so follow directions regarding those. Engine is the same, torque values are the same. You are still running a Lightning wiring harness, which is basically just a mirrored version of the Firebolt harness which keeps the ECM and fuses up front instead of under seat. The pieces that make a Firebolt a Firebolt are purely cosmetic, so I recommend you pick up an 05 Lightning book to supplement. The maintenance stuff is the same for both. |

Top tree is different. Thicker in the lighting. I have a Lightning workshop manual, and I blew my Firebolt top tree tightening to Lightning's torque specs. |
