I just thought there might be some people that would be interested in knowing I got 7,000+ miles out of a rear Pirelli Diablo. Front is still in great shape. I'm thinking about trying the Metzlers for my next set. | ||

...it's all in what kind of riding you normally do. I got 7500 out of the stock set of tires when people with good (read: curvy, fun) roads got 2500. ...got a set of Metzelers for the RtR tour, though. Very interested in how they do, since everyone is so enamored of them. All I've had on my XB were D207s and D208s. | ||

Darthane, I would say 2750 miles of my Diablo's life was long haul freeway runs between Phoenix and San Diego. Mine was worn down in the center and very much squared off. | ||

I have got 10K on a set of Diablo Corsas and still looking for more. Probably another 3-4K more on they way the look. | ||

Well...don't take this the wrong way, but I weight about 150lbs with all my gear on, so I'm much easier on tires than some! LOL...I'm not big on wheelies, I don't do burnouts, and where I generally ride I hardly ever really get on the throttle...all these make for much longer tire life. When I had the D208s put on specifically for the Northeast Adventure last year, they lasted 3500 miles, the last 900 of that being freeway as I went home...they were pretty bald all around. | ||

Well, I'm 180lb, love to mono, do a lot of town riding and commuting. My 208 will be due replacement at 3,500ks, very soon. When i bought the Muell, since i was using it to commute 5 days a week and mono, I thought i might end up fitting a dual compound tyre to prevent the squaring off effect. I was wrong. Until just recently it was wearing more on the sides and I thought I'd have to give it some Burn Out Therapy to even out the wear. Alas, the front too is worn out on the sides, so I have lost all confidence in it, so now I am flogging out the middle of the rear just to extend their lives a bit. | ||

I'm 225 lbs. and got the 7K out of the rear diablo. I do a lot of highway riding. It was worn down the middle. | ||

Its all riding style. Burnouts and Wheelies are obvious. Hard acceleration and engine braking significantly shorten rear tire life (I do alot of both), especially on a V-Twin. | ||

yeah Pirelli Diablo is a damn fine tire. I just got a new pair for my wife. they came with a Ducati 620 Monster attached. Very sweet little bike. she likes it a bunch. why didn't she get an XB9 you might wonder? well after driving 800 miles to bring me a drive belt one night, she had to have a reliable bike, won't have another belt driver in the garage. | ||

I only got 1500 miles out of my stock 207s and both the front and rear were down to the wear bars with no burn outs, I was very disappointed,I hope the 208s I just had mounted last longer but don't really expect them too. | ||

My 207s didn't last very long either. No burn outs or wheelies either.   | ||
