I have to say that factually, The R1 is faster than any Buell in most types of riding. That is a fact assume we have the same rider on both bikes! Most Buell buyers/riders know this and bought their Buell anyway. If we wanted a rice rocket, well, gee, there is no shortage of them, no? To me, I can't tell any of these race reps apart unless I can get close and look at their decals. No decals, no ID to me. My XB9s looks, well only like itself. I like that and that it will EASILY out handle my last ninja is a plus to me. It is immensely more comfortable than said ninja. I had a local car mechanic checking out my bike yestersay for at least 20 minutes, asking me questions about the technology and generally admiring the hell out of the bike. He now lusts after an XB. Never had one person do this on the ninja. Well of course you can't because you cant see the technology and it isn't distinctive anyway. Don't they all have inline 4s with radiators etc. No put down to the R1 but Dyna, why do you feel the need to bring it around here where YOU KNOW, for the most part, we don't care about inline 4 jap bikes. Surely you know you are looking to pick a fight? Just asking, I don't care that you have an R1, •••• I could buy five of those if I wanted. Great bike, just not for me. Anyway, since I am such a •••••• rider, you could likely take me on a nighthawk. Who cares! I don't! But it is kinda fun seeing Blake take you on (in print I mean!). Ride safely all! | ||

Henrik, You saying I can't jump? That dredges up memories of one of my most embarrasing moments in life... a slam dunk gone horribly wrong during pre-game warm-ups. Learned the hard way why the pros often cling momentarily to the rim after a slam dunk. My high school pals never let me forget about that supremely dorkish move. Donnie, Dyna, You see the joy on the face of that young scout and sprinter whose photos you posted? That's the same joy I get whenever I uncover my Cyclone before taking it for a ride. I wish more people could feel that kind of joy in their heart more often. Speaking of the looks one gets on XBs, I have noticed a severe reduction in head turning I do since moving from a 9 to a 12. I have attributed it to the frame color since the silver definitely has more bling. | ||

I personally take offense at making the developmentally disabled the butt of a joke (by way of a photo, or anything). If we're gonna talk Jap Bikes, the R1 is nice, but a stock ZX10R puts out more power. In AMA Suberbike races, the CBR1000RR and the GSXR1000 stomp all over the R1, so does the Ducati 999 for that matter. edited by curve__carver on July 22, 2004 | ||

You know Dyna - I appreciate your different point of view most of the time. However, the guys do have a point. If you want to bash Buells and feel good about your R1, why not go where there are more people like that. Hate to see you go, so do come back. However, what is the point? You want to hear that your R1 is a superior bike? Your bike is superior, now stop the p1ss1ng contests for crying out loud, it really is pointless and has gotten extremely old. You have a pretty motorcycle, we all do (beauty is in the eye of the beer holder, after all). 420 - Bro, chill out, go take a bong hit or whatever floats your boat. No need to be degrading and threatening here. You got a personal issue with anybody here - thats what PM's are for. No need to go blathering that crap here on the boards. Do you have some point to prove? Because I just dont see it, so communicate better, or just take it to PM's. Speaking of BRAG events, there is the Texas event in Kerrville in October. Hopefully by then I will have my house in the Austin area if anybody needs a place to camp out or anything.
