I'm looking for a XB9R or XB12R ... I'm searching the various sites and find a fairly decent variety of years and mileage. Is there a year that I should stay within (for example 2005 and newer)? I do have a 2010 Lightning so I'd like them to be similar in parts etc. I'm trying to stay under 10K miles too. Any advice at what year I should shoot for? Many thanks Brandon |

All of them are pretty much the same, with in general the newer better due to the various updates. I would stick with the 08 or newer if possible, that way it more in common with your 10. Why not go for something totally different, like an 1125R? Variety is the spice of life |

Don't forget the tubers, they rule, AND there are some pretty sweet deals on them to be had: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/406 2/664769.html?1326442120 |

XB9R's are pretty neat though, zippy little bikes and different enough from the 12S to give you something different to ride. Get an early (03-04) low mile model for cheap! |

Thanks! How do the seat heights of tubers compare to those of the fuel/oil in frame? Im short haha Those are sharp colors of the tubers! I found some nice low mileage XB9Rs on cycletrder. I never really got into the 1125R's since the engine/tranny is totally different. Thanks! Brandon |

Have you glanced at this thread regarding a 03XB9R? Good list of possible problems to look for. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/327 77/664691.html?1326518632 As far as tubers go, there are some low versions of the M2 that had a 30" seat height, or you can get an pre 99 M2 or a S1 or S1W and cut the seat foam down. There was a lot of foam in them and I found cutting my S1 seat down made it a little more broad and less uncomfortable as well as giving me more stand over height. |

Personally, I would get a 2004 or 2005 xb9R. Best years with the least amount of problems and good prices! |
