well as a few of you no i did an engine swap from an 04 to an 06 engine. and in the process i some how fried my race ecm. so now i have a stock ecm that i have installed. and now it starts idles a little bit. and then slowly dies. i cant figure out what it is. i have the race map that im going to flash on to the ecm when i get a chance. but heres a video on what my problem is. if any one has any ideas on what this could be please let me no im trying to get this sorted out as soon as possible oh and my battery was rely low in this video. and i had to use a flashlight so my phone could see the tack http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_profil epage&v=orD3AyyKKbE |

Did you perform a TPS reset after swapping the ECM? |

yes a few times now. but i cant get past the part where it needs to warm up and get the idle speed tuned right because it keeps dieing so i cant get it to temp and fluctuating so much |

Turn up the idle a little bit so it can warm up. |

how high is it safe to go to? the highest ive gotten it to is around 1700rpm. and i didnt want to go any higher with it |

and this is just something i was wondering about. this was last night the tps was like fluctuating not sure what it is just wanted to no what causes that. i got it to stop just adjusted it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gn-HVWmlv2A&feature =g-upl oh and when i use the throttle it seems rely jumpy like i cant get it to stay in one place or in the middle of 1000 and 2000rpm (Message edited by cpatt on November 29, 2011) |

I don't know what the upper limit is for safe cold idle speed, but my EBR ECM on my '09 makes it idle at just a hare under 2k rpm when cold. I'd guess that the EBR folks wouldn't do anything too stupid wrt idle speed so by implication 2k must be within the safe operating range (that and mine hasn't blown up yet). |

i remaped the ecm with the race tune and it will keep it self runing. not realy a steady idle. but its good enough for me to be prepared for a test ride tomorrow. and made me confident enough to put my plates back on. |

I think if you reset with it cold it'll be close enough to at least get it to warm up so you can reset it again while hot. |

went for a ride. runs great. idles a little high but its low when its cold so im going to leave it |
