On the old Sportster group I would see this mentioned a lot. I am wondering if the same exists for Buell. Rode my XB9S into work Friday and noticed a tablespoon of oil that dripped out of a hose behind the left side footpeg. No spirited riding. Just a typical 30 minute ride, cool day to boot. I have not noticed any drips in my garage. So what happened? I am assuming this is the breather issue that Sportsters had/have. |

your sure it's oil ??? that little hose behind the left peg is the vent hose from the fuel tank ?? ( with a very full tank it could spill a drop ) if it is oil, it is probely coming from one off the oil line's check theme for sweating/rub marks |

Hrmm. Now I am wondering if it came from my bike. I checked the lines and they seemed fine. I couldn't find anything oily on the bike but that hose was directly over the drip. A lot of motorcycles park there so it could have been from one of them. I will stay in monitor mode for a while though. Definitely do not want to be losing brake fluid. |

That sounds like the fuel over flow line... Once I filled up all the way to the "lip" not knowing and when I looked down, she was pissing fuel on the ground. Semper Fi Tatsu

I filled the bike up that morning but then drove it in so I doubt it was the fuel. And it was definitely oil or it would have evaporated when I went down to my bike later that evening. It was translucently clear too like brake fluid. Time to inspect my resevoir! |
