Greetings yalls: I am the very happy owner of a Lightning XB12SCG and it fits me with almost both heels touching. Im short: 5'6". Question: how much taller/wider is the Firebolt seat height? With winter coming I was considering shopping for a Firebolt (900 or 1200) since I always LOVED the body work-I'm still keeping my Lightning tho!! Just adding to the family! --brandon |

Yes it can be lowered. I can stand flat footed on my R. I have the yellow spring shock in the back and slid the trees down on the fork tubes. It's been like this for 13k miles with no issues. Or you could swap the triple trees and forks out with those from another SCG. If you're lucky enough you might find someone who wants to do an even swap, your R parts for their SCG parts. |

I don`t think the R`s ever came with the scg gear...wonder what one would handle like with it all changed over compare to stock height and all... I got all the gear to do so, just never needed to as of yet still waiting for a few more years ( I hope ) before I shrink, to need to do so |

I never rode one that wasn't lowered so I couldn't tell you if there is any difference. As long as the front and rear are lowered evenly the geometry shouldn't change. |

ok so i have an scg and im 6ft i really dont feel cramped but can i just do the oposite of what terrs1980 did and instead of lowering the front but raise them i see that i have some shaft left to do so. and maybe get a stiffer spring in the rear. or can i just turn the tension of the spring up. im new to the buell and im trying to gather as much info as i can. thanks |

You should be able to find the blue spring shock on ebay and swap the shock out. Keep in mind the SCG forks are shorter and I am pretty sure the upper triple tree is different too. You can post something in the classified section and you might find someone to do an even swap with you. |
