Lately I've noticed the ol' buell is backfiring on a cold start. Don't recall this being an issue before. Today it was 29 degress this morning and when I hit the start button it turned over, backfired twice in rapid succession then started up... other times it won't start and other times it will backfire then start. ....backfiring through the exhaust.... any ideas... this summer i installed magnecore plug wires and new denso iridium plugs... think there's some problem with that? |

How's your battery? A worn out battery can lead to weird starting in the cold when it can't crank the motor & fire the ignition at the same time. My XB9 lights right up down through at least -2F with the stock ECU (not sure about the race ECU - haven't had it through a winter yet, but it's been fine sub-freezing, so I expect it to be just fine). |

I currently have 8.5 mm Magnecore wires with dense iridium plugs. No problem here. |
