I have a friend that is looking at a XB12R black/gold however there is a dent in one of the header tubes from be laid down in the driveway. The bike is pretty much flawless other than this dent but it is driving him nuts. I have never had to replace the header on any of my bikes but it looks like a big job. Is it? How much to use headers go for? Thanks |

The best way is to rotate the engine which is not all that difficult, you might be able to remove the fan and go in through the frame but that actually seems like a harder option. Used in good shape headers are normally somewhere in the $100 or less range. Best thing to do is to get some exhaust wrap and just cover the damage, helps prevent a bunch of heat on your leg too. |

Definitely rotate the engine. Even if you could remove the header nuts in the rear head and O2 sensor, reinstalling will be much easier with proper clearance. Make sure you buy new gaskets. |
