I would have preferred that Buell had released an XB12S Low, preferably black. Oh. Wait a minute. They just did. Never mind! |

I have 91000 miles on v-rods. They are geared pretty tall. My xb12s is a lot quicker. Also, 200+ lbs. lighter. |

I just wrote this - it applies well here! Dear Erik Buell, First - I want you to know I really like the Blast. It is elemental and holds all the essentials needed to really enjoy riding! I've had nothing but fun on the bike and have even convinced my wife of their fun, and she has begun to learn to ride - I own two. I know an updated Blast may never happen, however, I have hopes that you may continue the line with an updated version using XB motor parts and frame style. The suspension could still be basic USD 43, the engine would only need 41hp rear wheel (about 1/2 an XB, and current with what other singles produce in stock form). This would be an Ideal beginner platform because there would be the ability to upgrade using existing factory parts, while the power would still be at a beginner friendly level. When it is time to step up to a bigger Buell, the rider would then be much better prepared for the Twin experience. I know you could do this, but will you hear our prayers and produce the beginner bike of our dreams and what the new biker has been waiting for - I can only hope! Sincerely, Ed Zick AKA ezblast GT - JBOTDS! EZ |

StreetTracker??? I thought I was the only one that liked them. Still would like to see one with at least an XB9 engine, XB12 preferable and anything more powerful than that Dyno-Friggin-Mite!!! |

OK, Erik, OK, if I can't get 100 rear wheel hp AND reliability out of this engine platform, I'll settle for 80 to 85 lbs. of a very flat torque curve, beginning at 2K or so up until redline, just past 5500. Am I talking a DIESEL now? Here's a good $$ maker, how about an accessory kit for on/off road use for the XB series. Bellypan, seat luggage rack combo, wire-laced wheels and different tires, crash bars to protect that damn oil cooler sticking out, suspension springs, and somehow, more legroom. Sell for about 2500 or so and convert your XB yourself. Idea is yours for free, but you got to give me the first one at cost or as a test bike for free.. |

I'd like an XB12 Grande that two normal sized people can fit on. Give it more traditional styling, a decent P&A offering and I KNOW that would sell. The brush guard deal seems silly to me but if it puts more people on Buells, that's what it's all about. edited by SteveFord on July 18, 2004 |

Taking a hint from the old small block chevy, How about a solid lifter version of the 9, with a new, smoother shifting six speed trans. And a hydraulic clutch for easier in-town work. BTW-make the plugs and valves easy to get to for us do it yourself types. None of these mods are that hard to do and would make an already great bike, even greater. Rev limit likely up to 8000 or 8500, and easier cruising at 75. I would also like an taller optional fly screen for highway work, something that can come on and off easily. More colors with lower cost to switch colors. Imagine if you could have two colors available for your XB, say for $300 a set? IMHO! |

Interesting comments. One note for Brucelee...even the racing Buells in Formula Extreme run hydraulic lifters! It's amazing how technology has changed. Hydraulic lifters are not the RPM limitation by any means anymore. |
