I have an 08 XT. I love the bike. My goal was to make a sport touring bike out of it. Lower handlebars, shorter windshield, Race ECM, and a few other mods have made it the perfect combination of long distance tourer and back road blaster. Riding into work today, I was thinking to myself that this is a fun bike! |

love it. The seat is real comfortable, the heated grips are really coming in handy this time of year, and I'm starting to appreciate how nice and warm the engine is. |

Not in Milwaukee, Zip code 61115. I'd let you sit on it in the garage and try a couple of different preload settings. There should be someone near you. |

I'm 5'6" w/29" IS, on my 08 XT I can touch both feet to the "balls" if scooted all the way forward on the seat. That's on level ground of course, cambers vary.... So far I have only had a few "mishaps", but then I just blame it on the Uly being tired and needing a nap. This happens at the most embarrassing times for the operator it seems. It's all good though, it's an awesome ride...... If you're still waffling, go for it. They ain't making any more of 'em. |

Bout the same as you ulyranger. I bought a custom seat from Baldwin saddles. I just didn`t fit the stock seat and never sat in the bucket always forward of it. got the memory foam with gel insert and a restyled bucket which fits me very good. Maybe 1/2 inch closer to the ground but not much different there but way more comfy. Its probably the most practical sport tourer ever made. Can carve curves as good two up as solo though feels like a hot rod after riding two up a lot. lots of room for the passenger and the suspension has enough range to cover the weight of a passenger and luggage. Fun to farkel too! http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=346721&page=21 (Message edited by barkbuster on September 24, 2011) |
