I GOT MY DRUMMER! Sounds great, rider great! I have a Race ECM and Drummer now and love it! TPS was reset as well.

One problem Im having though is this: My Buell has a tendency to hang at around 1500-1700RPM for a few second when coming to a stop or pulling the clutch before slowly settling back down to 1100RPM and idling fine. It does this when its hot. The b ike starts fine, goes fine and otherwise is perfectly in tune.

Any ideas on why the RPM hangs high and then settles? Has anyone else dealt with this?

I wd. guess your idle is just set a little to high ...try adjusting it down just a touch when its hot had same plm. with mine and that fixed it....

Idle might be set too high. Mine did this for a while and I simply carry an allen wrench for the adjustment screw next to the left side air scoop (while sitting on bike).

I rode as I normally did and raised the idle until it sticks like you said...then lowered it to around 1100. Kept riding and it would change slightly (usually a big lower to around 1000) and I would slowly raise it just a tiny bit.

I got to a point where one raising adjustment made it stick slightly and backed it off to where it was...been staying at 1100 for about 2 months now.

Yes they are finicky but I call that character. My dad has a 1958 Matchless that is has A LOT more character if you know what I mean. Still a bunch of fun to ride though.

My XB9 did the same thing when I bought it. The dealer switched the ECM to fix it.

I doubt there's an ECM switch needed. I can't think of anything that could fail in the ECM which would do that. I concur on the idle=too high thing.

I thought the same thing but they put in a new ECM and all has been well ever since.

When my idle was doing that, and I played the adjustment game, someone mentioned that the TPs might be off just a little so I went and had the TPS reset. Solved the hang up and idles perfectly at 1050.

Either poor idle setting or poor TPS zeroing. Either could cause idle speed problems. I think the TPS zero calibration is the most likely candidate.

I had the same thing happen with the setup you are using...Turn the idle down a hair...It'll fix it..
