I know this is a little off subject from the bar ends, but I went a different route. I got some metric cruiser adapters from Kuryakan (sp?) and just bought some aftermarket Harley style mirrors. I am waiting for the mirrors to come in, when I get them in I will snap a couple shots and let ya'll know how they work out. Rich |

You can't go wrong with the 3rd Eye Handlebar End Mirrors. They are only $13.00! They work great an look cool. Try your local mountain bike store or order them online. http://www.rei.com/online/store/ProductDisplay?storeId=8000&catalogId=4000000800 0&productId=12267003&parent_category_rn=4500871 |

Tried the bike mirror thing, but the vibrated like crazy. Ended up with the same is Misato. Over priced but rock solid! |

Hey Stealthxb, I've been thinking about getting those for a while now. I have the Napoleon bar end mirrors, but want something smaller. I can't bring myself to spend another $80 for mirrors. Are the 3rd Eye bar end good quality? The black part is plastic right? I wonder how good they stay put on the XB with the vibration and wind.

I've run the 3rd Eye mirrors on my XB at triple digit speed with no problem. Didn't have any trouble with vibration either. Dramatically better view than the stock '03 mirrors. Took 'em off when I changed to the Buell Traction grips, couldn't get them to fit quite right after that, stuck on some bar sliders instead. At some point I will probably spring the big bucks for the CRG's. |

They stay put pretty well! Sure, there is vibration, but it is a vast improvement over the stockers. The back is plastic, but they don't look bad. Just about everyone in my club has them and I have'nt heard any complaints! Just be careful putting them in, I dropped one. They shatter easily, but its a hell of a lot easier to replace a $13 mirror vs. a $70 mirror. Get 'em...you won't be disappointed. |

Go with the CRG mirrors -- the LS version. They fold back when splitting lanes, or when you're worried somebody will catch them on a jacket or something in a parking lot. Steve. |

I have the Napolean bar ends, and am very well satisfied. The look of them fits the bike, kind of aggresive looking. They are priced in between the CRGs and the $13 ones at $40 for the pair. |

I have the CRG's & while they are pricey, they are well built, dont vibrate, wont fall apart, etc. The Napoleons look real goofy to me....remember thats just my opinion...if you like em..great. |

as an alternative, napoleon also makes a mirror that looks just like their barend model but fits into the stock mirror mounts... i've got them on my m2 and they're great! you don't get that six-foot-wide handlebar look, and it makes it much easier to lanesplit. |

I have the 3rd eye. Make sure that the screw has loctite is where the mirror mounts to the pivit point before you ride off. Mine vibrated loose and fell out the first time I used them. No problem after that. They fold back as well. You might have to cut back you grip to keep the throttle form rubbing. |

Haha..."longhorn". I knew it looked like something but I couldn't figure what. It does remind me of a Texas Longhorn! I still like it better than the "insect antennae" look though. I'm thinking I am going to give the 3rd Eye thing a try. Don't pick on my Lightning or it will charge at you!!!

How do those things affect lane spliting?? |

Starter, the CRG picture above is of the non-LS versions. The LS version looks like this: THe hinge has a ball detent in it (like the thing that holds the socket on your ratchet) with a milled ball groove. The mirror holds it's position great, until a certain force is exceeded, then it folds back. If that certain force happens to be caused by your mirror hitting an adjacent car's mirror while going by it 20mph faster than the car, it has a GREAT DEAL of effect on lane splitting Al |

Austinrider, They are flush mount marker lights that can be found or had through most cycle supply stores. Actually, I don't have them on now though. The plastic lenses had some cracking around the mounting holes, so I took them off, rather than lose a lens on a ride. I'm using these now... Timbo |

The Texas Longhorn thing hurt my feelings(j/k), so I went out tonight and bought two 3rd Eye bar end mirrors for $12 each. At 1st I wasn't sure I would like them, but once I put them on they look really good. It gives the Buell a more "slick" appearance. When I get a chance I'll take a picture. After owning these I see no reason to buy the much, much more expensive ones. |
