Hey guys, i have been reading for a while, and searched, but have found nothing. I have a blast right now and will soon be buying a new XB. i prefer the 9r because i do just about all in-town driving and like the rear seat for my wife better than the s. But i am kinda short for the 9r, is there anyway to lower it, just slightly at all. A lower seat, will the 9sl suspension fit? Anything? thanks alot guys Chris |

Set the tire pressures at 5 psi, that'll lower it a bit |

Get a riding shoe with heels, like Harley boots. Works great. No kidding. |

The lower pegs won't lower the bike, they just lower the position of your feet when on the pegs. I too would like to lower my XB12R. Does anyone know how much the shock change will drop the seat height? |

I looked at this a few months back when my wife was interested in trading her M2 for a 12R. To lower it and keep a safe suspension you have to change the rear shock to the low model and replace the front forks with the low model, otherwise the bike sits higher in the front (not really the technical term, i just made that part up). She decided to keep the M2 but rode a 12S and did not feel it was too tall. She is about 5'5" and while she could not flat foot it, she easily kept the bike steady. We've been working on clutch control and she can keep her feet up at a stop light for quite a while now, eliminates the need for a lower bike!!! Joel |
