I just started having an issue with what I think is the keyed ignition switch. It seems frequently now when I turn the keyed ignition to on it does not go through the electrical start cycle (fuel pump, ecu, etc...) and the bike will not start. Every time thus far I have been able turn the ignition on/off several times and it makes contact and starts up and runs fine. Before I go and order a new ignition assembly I was hoping to get some information in case someone else has ran into the same issues. Thanks. Dalemurphy48@yahoo.com |

The same thing happened to my Uly a couple of years ago. I bought a can of spray contact/tuner cleaner at Radio Shack and sprayed it into the key opening as well as several other holes I found on the switch assembly. The problem cleared up, and hasn't come back since. |

I was alerted to a potential ignition switch issue on my '06 Uly by others here on Badweb. I pulled mine apart and cleaned it up very successfully a couple of years ago - the new switch is still sitting on the shelf. I took some photos and did a few notes - link to that below: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142 838/466128.html?1245416650 |
