I know there has been a lot of, sometimes agitated, discussion about the Ti Force titanium exhaust system for the XB's on here before, but having just received our first one for a customer I thought i had to share this with you.

It is the finest peice of workmanship I have ever seen on an automotive product! The quality of the welds is completely out of this world and really does have to be seen to be believed!!!

I have no axe to grind with this product, but personally I'd fit one to my bike just for the looks alone.

Trojan, but how does it perform?

No question the pipe looks tough but for that kind of money it needs to find a bunch of new power to go with it.

'ya that puppy better put me WELL over 100rwp for that much'

HAHAHA. I spent $1365.00 + $168 dyno tune. 79hp(must be like 68hp stock on that dyno)
it would cost another $3500 I'd guess to get 100rwhp
stgIIIheads
1200kit
cams
etc.

The Tiforce is an incredible looking pipe. I think alot of people were just waiting to see how it performs before dropping the cash.

I know i am.

Same here but only if it's better than the Drummer and the stock header AN after a rebuild to 1350.

O.K. everybody knows how much $ a Ti-Force is, and regardless of what it costs, will likely result in a token incremental percentage increase in performance, perhaps similar with any of the other less restrictive exhaust systems, but what we want to know is ...

HOW DOES IT FRICKIN SOUND ?

I have the Sebring Twister, which for all intents and purposes, is a stainless steel clone of a D & D, the increase in power is nice, but the deal breaker is ...

HOW DOES IT SOUND ! !

It seams funny, I think the thing is really nice looking as well. And yeah, how it sounds is important as well. But don't the 9s dyno in the 70 rwhp range stock? It would be cool to bolt on another 30 hp with an exhaust, but unrealistic. This thing looks really cool. That, I think, is it's biggest selling point. If you want that kind of an increas wouldn't you have to be looking into the big motor stuff, a 12 or bigger. Plus a lot of tunning. My biggest greivence is you can't jack on the can like the stocker. I realize that most aftermarket cans you can't. Wouldn't this make it a pain to work on the bike. I just did a front isolator on my bike and needed to do this. Don't get me wrong I love the way it looks. A sound clip would be cool.

You CAN jack on the D&D, its built like a freakin truck. Its got a flat plate on it that is for jacking.

I`ve never even thought about jacking on the muffler. Why would you want to?

Thats what they make bike stands for right?

I recently installed a tiforce, velocity stack and 12 airbox , in that order. This is an 03 XB9r and it had the factory race kit dealer installed prior to these mods. The pipe by itself made some difference in the low-midrange and maybe a little on top. With the velocity stack, a bit better upper end. The 12 airbox really topped it off. Subjectively, it feels like a different engine. I had an M2 for a couple years w dynojet kit forcewinder and pipe and now the low mid torque feel more like a 1200cc twin. Top end is a much stiffer rush, and now the rev limiter is hard to keep from bumping its pulling so well at 7500. No dyno yet. One downside is that this pipe is so light it makes the bike buzz a bit more. I resolved this by removing the old rear pipe mount completely and machining two very light alu tubes. The change in weight reduced the buzz. I tried adding weight to = the race pipe but that didnt work as well. Sound wise this pipe is much less booming than the factory race pipe and gives a more ripping type of sound. I used to wear plugs all the time with the old pipe. Now for around town thats optional.

Hey Mark, thanks for chiming in. How about posting a photo of you custom setup? File size is limited to <60KB so you may need to trim the resolution and quality down along with size too.

Or link to another site that hosts your pic.

Use the \image{My Ti-Force} formatting tag to upload a pic, or the \imagelink{URL} formatting tag to display a pic from another site and where URL is the URL of the pic you want to display.

Johncr250,

You can jack on the muffler cause they were made to, some of them anyway. Have you ever looked on a stock XB muffler? It has the jack points stamped into the muffler.
There are some things you can't do to your bike while on bike stands. Try swapping your belt while your bike is on a swingarm stand, ain't gonna happen.

Here are links to some pics of the pipe and mount. I also included a pic of a cheap way to make handlebar risers. Added 4.5" rise by welding a .312" stainless plate onto a section of original bar and adding .875 stainless tubing for the handlebar. You need an interference fit on the parts.( plate has to be heated to assemble.). Clears the stock fairing by about .125".

The pic here http://www.srl.org/forsale/xb3.jpg just looks like a candidate for destruction (Time Will Tell) or maybe it is just my paranoia about aftermarket exhaust on Buells.

Curious, are you running the Buell race ecm?
Did you need a tps reset? Is the header pipe
diameter smaller than on a stock 12?

Yes, I am running the race ecm. That was done by the dealer before I bought it. Header OD is 1.990. Regarding self destruction, its got about 700 miles on it so far. If it breaks, Ill post the miles.

Moby,

Yes you can do it with a car jack. Where did you place the jack?

And actually you can change belts with a swingarm stand but there is a trick too it. You have to put the belt around the right side upright of the stand before you lift the bike with the stand.

You really just have to do it to really get it. Any one who has removed their rear wheel with a swing arm stand knows what I'm talkin about.

Very nice work with the bar risers Srlong.

Was it hard to do?

Were the stock cables long enough to reach?

Jason,
"There are some things you can't do to your bike while on bike stands. Try swapping your belt while your bike is on a swingarm stand, ain't gonna happen."

It sure looks possible to me. You'd put the new belt over the stand leg prior to lifting the bike, do all the stuff to take the other belt off, but you won't get it off the stand until you lower the bike. Thread the new belt thru the old belt (with both hooked on the stand leg) and put it in place, then lower the bike and take the old belt of the stand.

Or not. I haven't tried it but it sure looks doable to me.

Al

Johncr250, I had to buy a new, longer front brake line. The rest of the cables were fine. I cheated and used a cnc mill, which reduces the time to a couple hours. Its probably easier to just buy an S Upper clamp. Re: pulsejets, I think Id rather have a pulsejet boat than a pulsejet buell.
