You mentioned in a thread one time that the injectors for the XB's were also used in the Ford Focus...If that is true...then it would be possible to use the aftermarket higherflow injectors for a Focus right? I am asking because I also remember in another discussion it was said that finding different injectors was difficult and they only matched a set used for a BMW...I am just trying to figure out which it is... |

Hmm...I don't remember saying that...use the same connector as a Focus, maybe, but that's true of all current Ford's. An injector is a pretty simple mechanism - as long as the current needed to power it is comparable (probably about 1A per firing), and the connectors/fittings are the same, then any injector WOULD work, but you need one of the same aperture opening to ensure the correct amount of fuel per firing. For example, the injectors on a XB12 are larger aperture than those on an XB9 - if the connectors, fittings, etc. are the same than you could swap the two and it would work, but not be supplying the same amount of fuel. I have no idea what the actual size of either the XB9 or the XB12 injectors are, though, sorry. |

that was why I asked, I couldn't remember if it was the injector or the connector that you had been talking about. Thanks. edited by wyckedflesh on June 30, 2004 |
