Was installing some new heel guards for the passenger and when I went to remove the little screws, the heads rounded off and now I can't get the screws out. Any suggestions on removing the little screws that hold in the heel guards for the passenger. Semper Fi Tatsu

Sears has a wonderful tool that works EXTREMELY well for that the Drill OUT Power Extractor. I got the 3 piece set for 19.99 and its already earned its keep. |

Yea, I had that same problem when I put my black heel guards on, had to use an ease out to get on of the screws out... Pretty soft material, and they were over torqued... Weirdest thing about it though, was I went to my local hardware store and they had an exact replacement screw... Kevin |

420.. Maybe you can get a tiny drill bit and drill the screw out piece by piece. I guess the out option would be to use the same size drill as the screw. Drill it out, then re-thread the hole with a slightly larger threader. Semper Fi Tatsu

Personally, I think the .45 comment was totally irresponsible. (that is much closer to a 9mm bolt )

I figured as much... but a 9mm wouldn't even scratch the paint would it? |

I had the exact same issue...I even went to Sears and got the remover kit. Didn't work...The problem is that the folks at Buell use lock tight on everything. I ended up taking my bike over to a friends shop and having him tack weld a small piece to what was left of the screw and then removed them. I called him...he said that a typical shop would probably charge about $20-$30 bucks...just thought I'd through my 2 cents in! |

420 -- you can often geet things to stop spinning by peening lightly with a drift of cold chisel (and a hammer, pistol butt, or larger rock) . . . once things are immobilized, those screws are likely a very low grade, and would be easy to drill out . . . .

FYI: The other way to remove toc tighted bolt is to use heat (may screw up powder coating) |

The heat trick was what the dealer used on my M2 when there was nothing but an act of god that would get my front rotor off. |
