Anyone using this? http://www.helibars.com/pics/buell/firebolt-a.html What do you think of it? Any interference when the bars are turned full left/right? Stock cables long enough? Relieve wrist pressure? Of course, how does it look? I know, lots of questions. Thanks |

Here's a picture of the Heli conversion from one of the guy's bikes at a recent SCAB event I attended. Fit and finish looked first rate and he commented that clearance was not an issue. I apologize, but I can't remember his name! ACK! I have it written down so I'll find it. Ortegakid knows him as he was there also... I am considering this too as I'd like to be able to sit more comfortably when not lying on the tank...

That's Daryl Salmon's (Sparky) Firebolt...Can tell from the thermostat tie-wrapped to the triple clamp. I don't think I could spend too much time on a firebolt without the Heli's. That 1" up, 1" back makes a huge difference. FYI, the black ones have been discontinued by Heli. I have one more black one in stock, when it's gone, only silver will be available. But it wouldn't be hard to take a silver one to a local anodizer to turn it black. Al |

I'm currently using the Heli bar and find it more comfortable than the Crossroad bar. Even so, I wish it was 1" higher. I'm wondering if there's any offset handlebars that can fit the Heli bar. |

Hey, thanks for the pics. I ordered one today with a Zero Gravity ST shield. I've got some S pegs on the way also. Should make my bike fit my 6'1" frame better. |

if you add the Firebolt Custom seat. It will increase the distance between the seat and foot pegs about 1.5 inches

to answer the first post, all the stock cables and wires work with the Heli bars. The biggest pain about changing them is the securty torx that holds the ign switch. I think its a T45. other than that its a real easy change over.

I can't remember if it controls Sparky's heated clothes or heated grips..I think the latter, not sure. But definitely heat control for something. |

Regarding Rokoneer's Heli bar woes, the Heli bar people assured me that the untapped ignition bolt hole problem was resolved. But I asked them to check before sending it to me. |

Would a set of these work on the S model? I added lower bars already but would like the clip ons. These seem to be lower than the bars I have now. I can see the ignition being a problem with fitment. I have seen the cross roads ones, but like the looks of this product better. |

Heli bar will work with S model, but you have to convert the front to the R version, like what I did to my XBSL. It's because, the S model has its triple tree set up to mount the front fairing bracket, whereas the R model mounts the front fairing bracket directly to the frame. |

Nice looking product, unfortunately the opposite of what I want. I want the bars lowered and heck, moved forward a quarter inch or so. But then, I like to take my bike to the track and thats a conversion I would prefer more at the track |
