My Dad and I recently finished making a brushed aluminum windscreen for my XB9SX. The old one was over-tightened and cracked by the previous owner so we took advantage of it. I just need to put the sticker on the windscreen.

Some other things I have done:

I installed some bar-end mirrors. There was enough space to clamp the mounts onto the ends of the bars, so I had the nice idea to use the leftover "bar plug" mounts to make a more professional way to mount the handguards which replaced the cheap black plastic plug that held them in place. Also bought a Jardine exhaust with the QMI. The bike sounds like a beast now, but I still need to tune it to get rid of the popping. The QMI helped a TON though. Heated grips!

Future plans:

Tune ECM. Cheese grater removal. LED licence plate bolt blinkers and LED blinker strips on handguards to replace all blinkers. Dual headlight mod. Angel eyes for headlights. Repaint grey bars under the seat to gloss black. Custom fiberglass seat cowl. Narrower handlebars.

And some pics! I just washed the bike so some of it was a little wet.

That looks really sharp! Nice touch with the black pin striping!

About how many hours did y'all put into that?

Yeah you noticed! I added an extra inch or so to the top. It helped with the wind just a little without looking too tall.

My dad did the bulk of the metal work with bending it and the english wheel and all. I am estimating maybe 12 hours total if you include the first 2 versions that didn't work.

That windscreen does look good, I wonder if there is a small market for it.

One thing... Is the QMI held in with a single screw? I think a few people mentioned that it can fall out so you might want to put in one or two more screws to provide additional support.

That windscreen was a lot of work and we probably won't be making any more. Most of the metal working tools are at my Dad's job and he had to do it during his breaks.

While the QMI does have only one screw, it also has a high temperature O-ring as well and it holds it TIGHT. The force I had to push on that thing to get it in place...nothing is going to push that thing back out, but I do check the screw now and then to make sure it is tight. Thanks for the advice though.

Glitch, are you talking about the ones on the forks? I am planning on chopping the cheese grater soon.
