My top end used to be 140, and that was it! That is where the rev limiter seemed to shut her down. Now for some reason it's 154 or so. The rev limiter let's it rev much higher in all gears, That's not good. What am I missing? |

154? nuh uh. Grab a GPS and then report back. I'll all but guarantee you it's just your speedo is off more than it used to be. |

I agree, but same tires everything. Is it not possible that the rev limiter is off and it allowed the higher RPM, which in-turn allowed the higher MPH? Just asking. |

Doubt it. Rev limit is set to a hard number that can only be changed if you were messing around in there with a tuner then you could change it. Most likely it's just speedo error. |

The xb12 will top out at about 140mph in 5th gear. If you are hitting 154, you would be running at 7700rpm. Either your speedo is off, or your cluster is reading in kilometers |

Froggy, KPH would be 247. I don't think so. I've had this bike since 2005. Just saying. LOL |

No kidding I really did go to XB9 primary. Now its on the limiter at 125. I really never run that fast anyway. The bottom end improvement was worth the mod. |

One thing that used to happen is the speedometer and tachometer would quit at random. It hasn't done that in a while. Actually ever since Harley repaired my trashed oil pump, gears, rods etc. Could the sensor cause this if there was a problem with it? |

All, BMW on ass, dick. So I rolled it and left him. He caught up so I let him go by, only to jump behind him and show him he's got nothing on this Buell. Started to shake so I started my Tuck, when I looked down at my dash, 132@5400!! Now the muffler was kicking in at 5k and she was pulling hard and fast, had to drop out *traffic no where to go but up his ass* 09 XB12XT, Race ECM,Delete Air box,IRD Plugs, Redline oils, Hawk muffler, Air re-breather mod, few others not Important. How can we have a top end of 140 when i still have so much on the tac.. Confused, I'll check the GPS but I'm sure everything is ok with my gear its brand new.. Straw |

5400RPM in 5th gear on XB12 running stock gearing is about 108mph. |

Yep, Froggy's dead on... my XT shows 143 on the speedo and 139 on the gps with 7,100 on the tach, held WOT for a few minutes at a time. 150 mph? Where's the tach spinning to? 7500...7600? Things go bang doing stuff like that... (Message edited by tiltcylinder on May 03, 2011) |

my XB did 137 at the stops on even road slight uphill about 135 was all I could muster. Of course I do produce a little more drag than most |

All, I recant my statement above.. I took my bike to my friend. He did say some things looked off and told me to take it out again. I saw 137@6400, I did not tac every gear out, rode it to about 6500 then went to next gear. Straw |

154 is very reasonable on an XB that's been dropped from an airplane. |
