So I'm wondering if anyone has idea's before I take her into the dealership (Hal's Harley in wisconsin). It's a 06 XB12scg. My buddy was helping me do my first oil change, gear change on my bike. He felt that the bike was idling a bit low stating that all dealers set them to low and adjusted via the "idle adjustment cable". Well after it warms up it was sitting at 2100 rpm at stop lights. I tried turning it back but now it will still catch at 2000 BUT every couple times it will drop to 1100 where I dialed it back to when idling? I did have the ECM custom tuned by Hal's last year and I didn't think to tell my buddy that before he messed with it? Thoughts? |

Idle should be 1050-1150 rpm. If it's catching (ie hanging at 2000 rpm and then dropping) you idle is still a tad to high. Keep backing it down. Ensure your bike it up to temp before adjusting your idle. |

snowing today so I'll have to wait till it's clear to try again. I let it idle till the fan came on last time before adjusting it, however after about 4 miles of driving it was still hanging at the 2K range. |
