So I finally got a chance to take pics. Its a 2010 xb12r with 56 miles. It was a repo and they dented the header. So I will wrap it this winter. Just got done giving her a good wax, and had to remove those ugly plastic belt gaurds.

If it was me, I'd put the belt guards back on, might save you from buying a new belt if a stone is kicked up and runs through the pulleys. That's a seriously dented header, I'd probably look for a repair place or get a used header. I think I would also check the exhaust studs to make sure none of them have been sheared off from that damage, there are two for each cylinder and a quick visual check would be worth the time spent. Take the seat off and look through the fan to see the rear studs. You might want to think about the right side scoop modification to help keep things cool. |

Sweet bike!!!! Belt guard, smelt guard... Leave 'em off if you like. I took them off my 98, my 08 and my 04 race bike. Probably just lucky, but I have had no issues with anything getting into the belt. (Message edited by Paint shaker on April 10, 2011) |

Well what are waiting for? Ride the damn thing!! No issues with a belt guard here, owned mine since new. Maybe a little pebble will get it, maybe not. I plan on replacing the belt on a semi-regular basis anyway. Oh yeah, nice bike. |

30,000 miles and NO belt guards. I melted mine down and got high on the fumes. Those things are for pebbles. If you get a full sized rock in there them belt guards will help keep it against the belt for better damage. |

The head studs are fine, that was the first thing I checked.. The dent is not bad enough to mess with performance, so they will get wrapped. As for the Raptor its a 2010 with a 5.4 litter, they did not offer the 6.2 when I bought it. Last summer I drove it from Kodiak AK into Canada and down the Alacan to Baltimore. I got yelled at by the wife a couple of times while driving thru Canada some of the roads are like a sets of whoops for miles since the freezing and thawing. So after about a 5 mile of running 85-90mph and catching air non stop my wife and daughter got car sick.. I have owned many trucks and this is the badest one so far. |

That really is a badass truck. I've only seen a few in person, but I worked on the 6.2 during development, so this was a long time coming. Congrats on buying the best color! |

So which one of your BADA55 rides should I look for at work? I'm a fellow F150 driver too... same cab/bed in a silver 06, but not a Raptor of course. Good choice on the color and non-splattered option. Hopefully be on the XB soon if it ever quits raining. We'll have to hook up and ride sometime. |

Yeah the graphics are ugly I think, they are just vinyl and a $900.00 option. Yeah I am itching to ride, just waiting for my tags to come in the mail. |

$900 vinyl that's in one color? rip off. Saw the blue crew cab Raptor at Apple Ford tonite. Nice. (even though it had the $900 option) I'll keep an eye out for the yellow 'bolt. Planning to ride in tomorrow. I was hoping to buzz and backfire the Westboro idiots too but looks like they will be totally isolated from everybody on closed streets. So much for spreading their 'word'. A55hats... |
