Wondering if anyone has had or heard the Drummer and the Buell race pipe on a XB12? I have the Drummer and want something a little quieter. The cops are becoming overly sensitive to noise in my area (as are the neighbors) and I don't need the advertisement . My Drummer is a week old and I might be interested in a swap if in fact the Buell pipe is quieter. Otherwise an outright sell of the Drummer may be in the future. |

You think a Drummer is overly loud? Either your hearing is super sensitive or the cops are just pricks. |

I had a Drummer on my xb9r and it too was too loud for my area. I use the Buell Race kit now and it is quiet enough to get away with it. |

Vaughn - the timing may not be right, but I have a Race Muffler from my 9R that I'll be taking off and replacing with a Drummer in a month and a half when I get back from Japan. It has had the tips squared off and was ceramic coated black. If you're interested in buying it and that time-frame isn't too off-putting, let me know and we can talk. I already have my Drummer, though, so I'm not interested in swapping, just selling. |

I'm keen on buying a Drummer for an XB12, if you're keen to ship to Australia. The availability of aftermarket Buell pipes down under is close to non-existent as far as I can gather. And stripping my pipe off, sending it to the States and back, is gonna leave me without a bike for way too long. One thing about Oz-traylia - Riding season is all year!!!!! |

This is a bit worrying, the Fed's are a bit down on non stock bikes over here. Hope the Drummer ain't obnoxiously loud. Will be fitting mine V soon. |

It really surprises me that some of you think that the Drummer is too loud. I've never had a problem with the police or my neighbors and Lord knows how anal New Jersey is. Every Thursday night is "Bike Night" at the local Stewarts root beer stand and I think my Buell/Drumer is one of the more quiet bikes, including many of the rice burners. When I'm riding I can hear the intake noise as much as the exhaust. I've never noticed anyone cringe from the noise as I ride by. I dunno, maybe its just me, but I think the exhaust note is just about right and maybe even a little on the low side. |

Hmmm, wonder if the cops are harder on Buells with loud pipes than the hogs with loud pipes? Every hog I see (that isn't new enough to still sport paper plates) has a loud unbaffled exhaust. The dealers seem to not have any warranty issues with them, and I never see them on the side of the road getting a too loud ticket. Can you spell discrimination? |

I have gotten a ticket for loud pipes on my HD. Of course it was during a "fund raiser" for the state of Minnesota. They were just looking for everything and anything to write tickets for. Usually it's not a problem. Dave |
