First of all, I searched through the archives and couldnt find what I am looking for so here goes. I've got an 03 XB9S that has completely died on me. It happened on a casual ride through town and it seemed like someone flipped the kill switch. Now when I switch the ignition on...nothing. No fuel pump, no head light, only the neutral light comes on and the tach&speedo needles flipping over. All the fuses in the box are good, the battery tested good, and i can't find any obvious shorts or disconnected wires. I pulled apart the kill switch and it looks to be functioning properly. Could someone point me in a good direction to troubleshoot. thanks |

I had something similar happen last year. (thought I was going to be stuck 100mi from home for the night) Even though your fuses may all be good they may not be making good contact inside the fuse box. Try both cleaning the fuse contact points and pulling the fuses in and out several times to improve the connection. My bike came back to life after pulling and replacing each fuse several times. Good luck! |

Iīve got an 06 Uly and exactly the same thing happened to me! I proved to be the fuel pump that had been completely clogged and just died. Donīt know if 03 XB9S has got the bank angle sensor, but if so, that might also be worth checking out. Good luck! |

Measure the voltage at the battery while the key is on. My X1 died like that and it was the battery. With no load, the battery measured 12.5V and when connected to a charger, it said it was fully charged. BUT when any load was applied, the battery might as well have been a chunk of wood! Voltage dropped to nothing. |

Connector by the drive pulley? Can't recall the name, but seems to be regular gremlin. |

ECM was tested on another bike and worked properly on it. Still my engine light does not come nor will the fuel pump turn on when I turn the key switch. Any other ideas ? |
