Im paying the dealer tomorrow, then arranging shipping, I have already ordered the 2" drop pegs from Knight designs, and the 1" bar risers from Precision Engineering. I do plan on ordering the drummer with the Erik Buell Racing ecm and doing the silver ceramic coating on the headers. Which rss should I get the small or large one?

Congrats on the new ride! I don't have one but if I was to get the rss, it would be the large one. Just to keep everything somewhat symmetrical. +1 on the axle sliders BTW, I love the black and red wheels. |

Bike is supposed to be delivered on the 21st, I'm getting super excited. I got the Title from the dealer and it says Origin Of Title : Buell Motorcycle Company, It states this is the first transfer of this vehicle. So if this bike has 2300 miles, am I buying a "New" bike? In other words never sold before. Maybe its 2300 worth of demo miles. Also the last digits of the vin are 003. Does that mean its the third bike made in 2008? |

No, the bike was used by the MoCo. Legally the MoCo bought the bike as would any other commercial fleet would.

Nope. The VIN isn't entirely sequential, also every model starts at 1. It very well may be the 3rd SS built, but even that isn't 100% certain. |

Got the bike, only have 2 complaints. I think the mirrors are stripped, they wont tighten correctly. and the heat coming from under the seat or the frame, mostly towards right side butt cheek, lol. I'm sure there is an easy fix, I'll search, Thanks! |

Mirrors have no threads. The collar tightens it like a drill chuck. You have to get them tight as hell to make them stop flopping around. I suggest you take each out and rough up the paint with sandpaper to give the mandrel or whatever it's called something to grip. |

Mine came with just one mirror and it kept vibrating loose, I switched to cheap Chinese bar end mirrors and love them. RW |

Wow that sucks. If I remember right last year he bought an STT then had to sell it immediately due to some kind of emergency. |

First problem was IRS, this problem is actually more serious, its ok, I will work it out, love the bike, but my work truck, (I need it to make a living) the engine blew at 256k! guess I'm lucky it lasted that long. No truck, no income. I'll be back........ |

Got a credit extension on credit card, truck is getting a new engine, and I'm keeping buell! Anyway, if I do ceramic coating on headers, do you have to rotate the engine to take headers off? |

I absolutely love the bike, have been riding it alot, now decisions, drummer vs. special ops, should I do the ceramic coating on the headers, should I get the Erik Buell Racing ecm, are Odies heat blankets the way to go? but i'm happy stock, could use a little more power, whats the best air intake solution? |

I ride a 2008 XB12Ss myself, also in Cherry Bomb Red -- the color makes it go faster! I run the Erik Buell Racing ECM as of last week, with a K&N high-flow air filter. If you're looking for more power and smoother response throughout the range, just that much will do the trick. If you want to raise the peak horsepower output you'll have to swap your exhaust for a higher flow as well. If/when I do, I'm going with Odie's Special Ops -- but I don't have actual experience on that aspect and I don't plan on doing that anytime in the near future. The ECM alone is good stuff!! Having said that, I ran mine stock (other then the K&N filter - I run K&N in all my vehicles as it's less costly maintenance over time) for 2 years and loved it! |
