Bads1, thanks! Looks good. I can just see the end of your chin fairing so it will be useable. Great. Looks basically stock to me as I'm sure all the mods are on the inside. Thanks again..... |

My D&D needs to be repainted. I ride in all weather conditions both at the track and on the road though. The D&D is loud, I starte wearing ear plugs now, more due to wind noise and some of it due to the loudness of the pipe. |

I didn't post about the Jardine because it didn't fit the description you wanted. It loses it down low. But I like the pull I get from 3000 up and the sound is great as black1203 said. Only correction is the new brackets are steel. The original aluminum ones rattled in half constantly. |

I rode a race kitted 9R and the first thing that struck me was how cool the exhaust sounded with dual outlets in the muffler. not real loud, just a unique sound. just my opinion Ken |

I just got my Drummer delivered yesterday. Took some pics to post but can't find my lead to download. I bought a used can off e-bay in US and had it shipped to Brian direct. Arrived 9th and left there for Scotland on the 11th. I received it 17th. That's quality service. These guys are the Dogs Bollox. While I'm on, the service tech' at my dealer said not to run the bike with exhaust and air filter for too long without the race ECM. Does the stock ECM not "learn" and adjust accordingly? I've got the race ECM but it means another 250 mile round trip just for a TPS reset.

beast - go to www.patmedia.net/haynesfam for a sound clip. It does take a while to load if you have a dialup. |

I too think they removed it. I think they should link it though. As with Beast, I have a 3Mb connection and left it there long enough to DL an entire uncompressed CD worth of music. Of course, their upload speed matters more than my download speed... edited by M1combat on June 18, 2004 |

hey, does the rear wheel need to be off the ground to remove the muffler? The instructions say to loosen the rear axle. thx |

No , the rear axl is bevelded so you loosen it about 15 or 20 turns and the bevel will ease the tension of the belt. But don't take the axl all the way out |

I had no problem taking off the muffler without loosening the belt tension. If you have XB9, lift the rear wheel to enable the pulley to roate with the wheel. Insert the socket extension through the pulley if you have XB9. It's easier to get to the clamp bolts for XB12 as the pulley mount is longer - the pulley is shifted back, giving access to the bolts from the front of the pulley. |

FYI for those asking if they can run the stock ECM (12R) with K&N and Drummer. I have that combination and went to the dealer today to have the Air/Fuel compensation factor looked at. My reading was 84%. The available compensation range is 120-60%. So, the stock ECM has plenty of compensation capability to lean/richen with this setup. BTW: I live at 6600' elevation. |

yes most assuredly you CAN run the drummer with the stock ECM. I am at sea level (very dense air here by the ocean) stock ecm is just fine. |

Thanks, everyone, for the advice and the pics and the sound clips. Drummer it is; race ECM and K&N for starters. (XB15S later on!!) Now I'm just looking for a good place to buy my bike. It looks like I may have to spend MSRP. I found a place in Atlanta that's $250 lower but after the 2.5 hour driver/gas/food/speeding tickets it won't be worth it. H-D dealer in Dothan, Al. absolutely sucks***. Took my wifes Sporty in for it's 500 mile service and they screwed the shifter up and got RTV ALL over the primary cover. Inbred retards at best. Do all of my own services now. I guess when I swap to better tires I will paint my wheels and get rid of the ugly gold color. Sort of reminds me of a big , black Lincoln Navigator with every piece of gold crap you can buy in JC Whitney bolted on to it. Buckin, I'll be getting with you shortly ref: Drummer. 420, if you still have your old pipe I will probably take it off of your hands soon and ship it direct to Buckinfubba. Thanks again.... |
