One of the things I'm gonna "upgrade" is the black bezel around the light. Does that piece snap in or is it held in by screws. I was playing around with it and cracked the original very easy. Semper Fi Tatsu

They are glued in. Give them a pull and they come right out. The American sport bike replacements are top quality in fit, finish and instillation. Carter 03 XB9R |

hope they don't burn on a hot sunny day parked right. After all that is the purpose of those little bezels. Those projector lamps make wonderful magnifying glasses and will melt tracks on your fairing or burn tracks in the resin of the carbon fiber ones, I would imagine. Proof that Buell pays more attention to detail than most imagine. edited by boulderbiker on June 17, 2004 |

Those are attached with two sided tape, not glue. At least that is how it was on my 9R. Be carefull pulling them loose. The headlight heat make the black plastic very brittle over time. I cracked one of mine removing it. I just used two sided 3m tape to put them back on after the color change. |

Yeah the plan is to replace them with the Carbon fiber version. I was pulling on the original just to see how they were put on and it cracked. Between the sun and the heat from the light they have become really brittle and this is on a 2004 I picked up in Dec. Oh well..thanks for the information. Tatsu |
