I am fixing to switch my front end out from a firebolt to a lighting and I have both a lightning and a firebolt ignition (lightning one is from a project bike i have never finished.) I am wondering if it is possible to switch out the key sections on the two so I can keep my origional key for my firebolt and not have to use 2 keys for my bike since I only have a gas cap and ignition to match the lightning key. |

Yes you can. I did it when I swapped out front ends. I'll look at the parts tomorrow to remember the details but you can disassemble the locks carefully to remove the keyed part and swap them. Sorry to be so vague, but I'll post more detail tomorrow if you need. |

A decent locksmith could also do the work for you, just bring both keys. |

I really need to do this since yesterday i lost the key to my lightning ignition so now I have the firebolt ignition rigged up to be able to start my bike but now I cannot lock the stearing until I either find that key or figure out how to make it to were i can switch out the keying. |
