My stock rear tire is down to the wear indicators at about 1700. No burnouts, very few wheelies kept at 38 psi. Ive got a set of M1s on the way but i was just wondering what the avg mileage is for everybody. | ||

My stock rear lasted about 2800 and the front about 5500...I didn't like the tires anyways. Am running the Michelin Pilots and like them much much better. | ||

i am running at about 2400 on front and rear at the moment, but the handling ( without any other changes ) really seems to have gone off in the last 200 miles ..time for some Diablos PS I dont do much riding on straight roads...it can get twisty here in the Hudson Valley | ||

I get 7,500 plus out of my 207's. More out of the front, but always replace them as a pair. Then again, I ride the twisties and don't waste my bike or tires on burnouts, wheelies and stoppies. | ||

I got only ~3500 out of my 207's. The roads I live on are tar+gravel with type 2 slurry. If you never been on this type of road, lets just say its like a cheese grater for tires. Not quite all the roads are like this but the county has changed most of the main roads. | ||

removed rear d207 at 2700 miles. it was as thin as a prophylactic. no burnouts used in testing. i am enjoying very much better handling with the metzeler Z6. | ||

Evil Twin...interesting comment about air pressure. Perhaps we should inquire what pressures folks are using with their tire of choice. I run 35 psi both front and rear as recommended by the fellow that did the performance mods and dyno on my bike. Have to admit that it sticks like glue in the tight twisties and I am real confident tossing it from side to side. Additionally, when I do wash the front, rear or both, it is very easy to correct. Wear appears to be even and when a rear finally needs to be replaced it has at least a 4" wide strip that is shot. | ||

I swapped out both front/rear 207's at 5,600 miles, keeping the PSI at 36/38 amap. The front was still in good shape. My current tread is Dunlop ST220. Nice tires, I should get 8k out of them. | ||

1500 miles with chord showing in center. One medium burnout and pretty hard riding. Replaced with the Dunlop 208. About half and half on the roads. (straight-twisty) | ||

maybe 3500 rear, 5000 front. Obviously not a lot of hard braking, more acceleration/torque wear. No weehlies or crazy s@#t. I live in Oregon: lots of twisties,tried to get rid of the "chicken strips". I think I will try the diablo's next. Any input on the tire choice? Front still going... slight very slight cupping. Rear, 5645 miles and tread left with the wear indicators just barely touched. HOWEVER... the hole in it that let all the air out of it Saturday has ended the life of this tire a bit early. It could have easily lasted to 6000 miles. I will admit I have babied the rear tire. I made a choice. I could fall to temptation and run through the first tire in 3000 miles, go to the replacement I bought for a great price from Waterloo (duh, not Appleton, but from Dave!) a few months back in another 3000 miles, and do the same until. Then... to do what I want and need to do for my 14 year old son, the XB would be sitting the entire summer out for lack of funds to buy a third tire. Fatherly duties are very important to me!!! When I told one of my riding buddys of the mileage I had on the original rear, he told me I was taking it too easy on the tire. My response... Yes, Yes I am! :-) Of course there was the a****** that gave me crap about the tire like he cared about my safety, and had to do so by insulting me and my judgment, that I had too many miles on it. Of course, this was without even seeing the tire. But I won't write more about that. The 207s can get some considerable mileage out of them for such a soft compound. Pushed hard they hold well and 3000 miles is not bad for such a tire. If used with moderation, 6000 miles is not an unsafe wear mileage if (my words) babied a bit. I replaced it with an identical 207, and am leaning towards Pilot Sports front and rear when this one does its tour of duty, and a full set is needed. edited by dasxb9s on June 17, 2004 | ||

just crossed 3000 miles on my OEM set and they're looking pretty good...i ride pretty hard in the twisties, but don't do any burnouts, stoppies etc that would accelerate wear I think the 207s are pretty good, but I think I'm gonna give Diablos a try next to see the difference for myself | ||

4000 miles on the 207's, still had a little life left in 'em after 2 trackdays, and lots of freeway riding. Mounted the Diablo's, love them so far on the street, doing a trackday on 7/18...35 front, 30 rear for street pressure, will likely start at 30 front, 26 rear for the track. Ed |
