Long story short I sold my 07 STT due to a Tax issue. That issue has resolved itself in my favor, so I am now back in the market for a bike. I currently own a 2008 Fatbob, so I have the cruiser thing covered. I really liked the STT but it is a bit too tall for me. I only got to ride the STT about 600 miles. I did enjoy it very much, I am 5'10" with a 29" inseam and could barely move the bike around when I was on it. I have narrowed it down to 3 bikes: XR1200 with upgraded suspension to the X model. about 9K XB12ss XB12 Scg I do remember sitting on a standard XB12s and did feel more relaxed on the XB12SS I know this is a Buell forum, and yall might be biased against the Xr1200, I think its a great bike, but maybe I've answered my own questions here, I'm thinking a slightly lower version of the STT (which of course is the 12ss) might be perfect........... One more thing is the 2008 and 2009 models worth getting over say an 07? |

The XR1200 is an interesting bike, and it crashes well. I'll leave my comments at that. Regarding the SS and STT, the 09+ SS has the same suspension as the STT, so if you want the lower SS you need to get an 06-08. Also, yes, the 08+ bikes are worth getting if possible. They had a huge upgrade in the fuel injection and oiling systems and bottom end of the motor for 08. |

If you find a SCG you can simply put a regular seat on it and it will be an inch or so taller,at the seat that is. Suspension is also shorter on a SCG. Some say it handles better some say not. The reason I am mentioning this is you are the same height as me and I have a SCG. Hope this helped. |

I am 5'7" with a 29" inseam, and I can get the balls of my feet on the ground with my Scg and a Select seat. I am not biased against the XR1200, I just know it sucks in every way compared to a XB. |

lol when I picked up my STT last year, the salesman asked me if I wanted to "upgrade" to an XR1200 Personally I think the XR1200 is a cool bike. Probably the coolest bike The Motor Company makes. Still no comparison to any XB in my humble opinion. I'm 6'1 ish and I've put a stock SS seat on the STT. It's much more comfortable (although not perfect, down the road I might get myself a custom seat) and it feels a couple inches lower. It makes the difference between tip-toeing and flat-footing. |

I did add 2" drop pegs and 1" risers from Knight Designs and really liked the more relaxed riding position. Does the SS and Scg have the same rider triangle as the STT? |
