Stealth, I would hate to sell you something you don't need just to make it seem better... I put a stock 12 header on Tilley's race Buell and the Drummer and made more power than the Pro factory Race System with no tuning of the fuel map...I say save your money and keep the stock header cause it works real good....Kevin |

Kevin made me a one off polished aluminum. (Bling Bling) SUPPER DRUMMER, a different design than the standard DRUMMER. This pipe has got throttle response to die for, but we are still working out some of the details. |

even if you saw what's in side a drummer you couldn't duplicate it ... there are so many subtle little "things" going on, you wouldn't believe it. only Keven and Bubba understand the myriad details that make it work as well as it dose. |

Kevin or Brian, the Drummer was modified and developed on the XB9 and performed X% better than the original stock muffler. It also worked very well on the XB12, but with a smaller percent gain from stock. Correct? So would it make sense to expect further gains on the XB12, given it's increased capacity, by increasing the diameter of the collector on the stock XB12 header by the same relationship as the 9 header dia. to 12? Thereby also making it necessary to increase the dia. of the internal plumbing in the modified XB12 drummer can in similar fashion as how the S1W collector was larger dia. than the S1? Just curious. |

Mrh nope probably not, maybe kevin will answer this better later on when he gets home. nut sometime with exhaust going bigger just slows things down. with exhaust it is all about velocity. when the put it on the tilleys race bike they took off the big race headers, put on the stock 12 headers and didn't even remap the fuel. It was running lean and it still out did the the system that was on. a system very similar to what you've seen on the becin exhuast.

So, what do you suggest? I have an XB12 with the factory race kit. ECM,Filter, & Can. I still have my stock muffler. Any gains to be made? |

A few years ago I high-sided my '99 Cyclone at Wolf Pen Gap near TWO and did some minor damage to the Force pipe on the bike. The header received a dent which led me to noticing a lot of fractures on the pipe around the front mount. When my broken collar bone finally healed I sawed off the Force at the megaphone and welded up a new connector pipe which I salvaged from an old Honda. The stock M2 header I REDUCED the collector to mate up with my new open megaphone muffler. I made no changes to the jetting i had from the Force and the bike seemed to run fine. Sold the bike shortly after that and the new owner wheelied the crap out of it. Must be that velocity thing you mention... |

Mrh, I don't think the gains are real big on the 12 because of the valve in the stock pipe...Sure you can put a big header , big hole in the end of the pipe and squeak a better number on the top maybe, but you will rob the mid and bottom that you will want everytime you twist the throttle....I think that the big exhaust theory has trickled down from somewhere to the Harley's some time ago and it just stuck with them....most world super bikes exhaust outlets are real small, you don't see them running around with 4 inch holes in the end of their cans, and they make alot more power than the Buell V-Twin....all I'm saying is why does everyone think that the exhaust has to be so much bigger than the valve and port that it comes from??? I realize considerable time and effort was put into refining and developing the Drummer, yours being the 4th system on as many Buells for me since '98 and without question the best. Perhaps it is just "Old School" mentality that bigger must be better. I had expected to feel a noticeable loss of power from the '99 M2 which I reduced the collector dia. on as stated above. But was delightfully disappointed. Thanks for your input. |
