anyone take it apart? do you need a spring compressor? I want to paint the spring. blue has to go.

Do NOT just undo it... Springs kill people. You can get spring compressors from a place like auto zone for about $20. The ones I got are made for the smaller diameter car springs that you would see on a small car but I used them on the front springs of my old Mach-1 w/o dieing (There were a few tense moments though when putting the springs pack in).

yeah I got the manual, show me where it takes the shock apart, I see they show how to take it out. maybe I'm not looking in the right spot. ahh, its sunny out I'm gonna ride

I don't think they consider that a user servicable component. You'll probably have to contact the manufacturer of the shock itself for info.

I'm gonna agree with Mike on that.

Out of curiousity, what would you have to add to the paint to keep it from flaking off as soon as the spring compressed?
