Yesterday I attended my first ever track day at Stratotech Raceway here in Edmonton. It's a tight, short, twisty, perfectly paved track originally designed for cart racing, but motorcycles do just fine on it too. I gotta tell you...that Buell XB9S absolutely ROCKS!!!! I was on almost new Dunlop 208's, and they performed flawlessly. It was a fairly cool day (only 13C), but I still managed to use all the rear tread on both sides and even slightly blister the left side (most of the turns were lefts, with 2 or 3 rights thrown in for good measure). Torqueing out of the corners, I was passing CBR600's, Suzuki GSXR 600's/1000's, Yamaha R6's/1's. You gotta LOVE TORQUE!!!!!!!!!! Mind you, on the one long straight section, some of them were smoking me pretty good! But I dont't care, Buells rule the corners!!!!! Most of the other riders were ga-ga over the Buell...they couldn't believe how short it was or how absolutely perfectly it handled! I may have even converted one or two to give Buell a try. | ||
