Erik is showing the bike this weekend in Indy. He posted a spy photo of the bike in the van, on his Facebook this morning. |

@Boliver You're in the right place, no worries. I just figured that fellow xb'ers would enjoy this. I'm sorry if I offended you. Nick |

Not offended at all. I just couldn't care less about what Erik Buell Racing is doing with his foreign powered bikes. Post where you want. I was just being sarcastic. |

Good thing it doesn't have one of those foreign frames on it. Maybe the wheels aren't from China either. |

Don't be upset about the bike being foreign powered. Erik Buell Racing is working with S&S on a new engine for future bikes. |

Erik's new bike has more in the way of American parts than ANY new H-D |

All said, I could care less where the motor is made, or the wheels! IT'S A BRAND NEW ERIK BUELL MOTORCYCLE MODEL and that's all that matters. I would own one in a second. |

What is the source of this information? Based on some online articles last week, it was implied that S&S was being contracted to perform EPA testing. For the life of me, I can't find the actual article. However, http://www.jsonline.com/business/116281784.html mentions S&S involvement pertaining to 'the new streetbike'. Not sure if we can infer another new [air cooled street ] bike is in the works based on that statement alone. If there was more information, I'd love to know as I dearly love my aircooled engine. However, air cooling doesn't seem like it would be a priority right now given the race motive. But who knows, I'd love to be mistaken on this one. Like I said, I LOVE my air cooled lump, even if it doesn't rev high or make a lot of horsepower. |

There is no direct statement saying S&S is developing a new motor for Buell. S&S does build the engines used in the Pro-stock Buells and could very well be involved in making internal parts for the 1190. BTW there are at least 10 threads on this site about the new 1190RS. |

I really dont think Erik Buell Racing would have S&S build a motor for them . From what I have read in different articles , he has hinted he has an agreement with CanAm for motors , who are connected to Rotax , the ones he is using now . They may even fund his production bike , and they have deep pockets so that part is good . The only reason the name S&S has popped up is because of their EPA Certification Facilities . I also dont think Erik Buell Racing will ever make a Air Cooled Motor bike again . Its old tech that does not lend itself to the performance he is after on his new bikes . Sad to say......I like my XB . |

I just couldn't care less about what Erik Buell Racing is doing with his foreign powered bikes. Harley had their chance to build the motor. As did other engine builders. That XB you are riding, is not all american. |

I guess it is a good thing they did not build said motor since rotax is still willing to sell E.B.R. motors and harley does not seem to be willing to sell xb motors to them. |
