Hey all- Were there more than 1 bar made for the City-X? Like different colors? The only ones I have seen have a fairly glossy powdercoat. Some of the SCGs for example have a flat textured coating on them. Additionally, anyone have part numbers for them? Lastly, anyone have some they want to sell? |

The 05-08 CityX had the gloss black powder coat, 09+ had what I believe to be the same Phantom Metalic coating as the frame. |

Andy are you thinking of putting the X bars on the Uly? |

yup. It's the one thing I find awkward about the Uly- I've always ridden sport bikes, and it's just too upright for me. And too wide. The CityX bars shouldn't be too big of a difference. I have a spare set of chrome lightning bars in the garage (same as CityX, but no cross bar and chrome).... Maybe I should try em out before buying CityX bars? Do you have input for me? |

Yeah, I have thought of that mod many times even before I bought the Uly. I have sat on a few lightnings and even though people say that are the same I never ever felt like they were the same. The regular lightnings felt narrow compared to my City-x. Could you still purchase them at a dealer? Please post pics if and when you get them installed please. |

yeah, they are available. the S bars are shorter and narrower than the X bars. I'll swap my S bars on soon and snap some comparison pics for you. now, who wants to sell me their Phantom Metallic CityX bars??? |

Andy, I don't know how anyone could ride with the stock Uly bars. Even the Lightning bars are a bit on the high side. I bought a set of Uly bars to throw on my Lightning, and ended up selling the Uly bars. Now I just need to put clubmans on my Blast and XB. |

I agree Frank. I think that I would be uncomfortable much lower than the City X bars, especially when I have the high seat on, I'm anxious to see how the Lightning bars feel. I sure don't understand those that put risers on their Uly bars! |

Andy, you must be of about the same stature of the Frog. I had a new City-X in '05 and had to put taller wider bars on it for my size and age that won't allow crotch rocket riding but for a few miles at a time. I put new bars on that were for a Yamaha four wheeler from a Yamaha dealer. They were three inches higher and wider as well as swept back about three inches more. Point is, there are bars everywhere that will fit. Even in the aftermarket, so you might find what you seek on line even. |

Yeah I know, but I'd really like a Buell set of bars....I hate an aftermarket look! |
