Hi, Is the adjust procedure and voltage levels the same for the STT as for the Uly? My STT has a slow to return to idle issue. I have checked the TPS twice and it seems right. |

Yes, all 99-07 fuel injected Buell's use the same TPS reset procedure That said, try this to fix your hanging idle. Start the bike, let it idle till its warm, then adjust the idle down a hair. |

Just to make sure I read the thread title correctly...you are trying to do a TPS reset on an 07 XB? If that is the case, you need a scan tool (i.e. VDSTS or ECMSpy) to do the reset on an 07. If it is slow to return to idle it can also be a mis-adjusted or sticky throttle cable. |

Thanks all, History on this, the bike was running great and then seemed liked overnight to run lousy. Hard to start, die out, on so on. The local HD shop here replaced the ECM and it seemed to help but I had the idle issue. I readjusted the TPS but the problem is still there. Also ran the bike for at least 30 minutes at 3000 rpm to allow the new ECM to learn. I am using ECM spy to do the reset. |

set rpm to 975/1000 rpm book states 1050 and 5.1 deg. IMO its a slight hair too much making some bikes hang at aprox 2000 rpm then fall. set it to 4.9 deg or 975/1000 rpm and the issues is resolved. I have one Bike that uses a 4.6 deg tps and another that uses a 5.5 both are at a 975 rpm. Switch the tps uits and its the same. both bikes need different settings. once reset and the ride has been done to relearn @ idle see what the ego value is. it should be 95 to 105. (not afv) EGO... If ego is below this your afr is too rich if above 105 to lean. front cylinder idle fuel avg's 4/6 points more than rear at running temp avg. did you check and reset static timing? did you check plugs and set gap to .035./.030 |

I was gonna suggest checking the spark plugs too. Easy things first. |

+1 on setting the idle when the bike is warm. My 2000 X1 used to overheat in traffic and idle high. Adjusting the idle to about 950 fixed the thing. |
