Well, it appears my XB9SX's rotor is finally at the day when it should be replaced. (54,000 miles later) I've been looking at the Erik Buell Racing 6mm rotor and hardware from Erik Buell Racing to replace it with. Now, my XB is a street bike. I've never had brake fade with the stock setup. I know that the 6mm and hardware from there offer better heat management. That's the pros. What would the disadvantages be if any other that price maybe being a slight bit higher than going with the stock stuff? |

None, but that part is out of stock now, so you'll have to wait for the upgraded 6mm _finned_ rotor to show up. Mine's not worn out yet, but I saw the $99 price tag and was going to buy one myself. Now I gotta wait too.

Another alternative, although more $$, is the finned 5 mm rotor. Either way, the Erik Buell Racing rotor hardware is the way to go. No longer one time use, and much easier to install. Plus, it's cheaper than buying the stock stuff from HD. |
