I'm thinking about installing a set of small round gauges on my bars.
One for oil temp and the other for voltage.

I don't want giant ricer sized tach gauges, just something that I can read going down the road (I prefer the old style round meter with the gauge arm, no digital stuff) and of course it needs to be water proof.

And also, I'd like to tag an oil line for the oil temp, any experience from anyone on here?

I've gone through the list from the search button, but nothing is real clear on how it was done and no pics :-(

The Voltmeter will be easy, but im not sure on the best way to tag the oil temp.
Ive seen a few that had the sensor in the drain plug, but I'd prefer the oil feed line into the cooler.

Anyone who has tackled this...please advise!

THANK YOU!!!
-Robert

Eric Z has some nice ones on his turbo XB and they are integrated well IMO

I'm also interested in some gauges. Oil temp/pressure would be nice.

I ran a 2-1/16" Autometer oil temp gauge at the beginning of the turbo project. I had to make a special T-fitting at the oil pressure switch port to fit the sending unit. There isn't much space there on the -07 motors. It worked well. I can post some pics a little later today of the fitting if I can find it.

My opinion is that the temp after the cooler is the most important-- to look at oil temp of what is on its way through the motor. The temp of the oil pre-cooler still reflects any heat loss the post-engine oil has had from mixing with the oil reserve and any swingarm heat transfer. I don't think that those temps would tell you anything special.

Oil pressure is something I was interested in but it's either a mechanical gauge with a oil line to the gauge that may break or leak, or an electrical gauge and the sending units are usually big and awkward. I don't like either of those options: (
