Ok here is my question or questions LOL. I have an 03 firebolt. I am looking to change my header pipe. Do I get a header pipe that is heat coated or do i get the header pipe wrap. Let me know your thoughts. Here is a photo of the bike! http://img84.imageshack.us/i/buellcarbonfiber008.j pg/ Thanks guys |

I would go with the heat coating on the header . I have a friend who has had his headers coated on a couple of his Ducati bikes and swears by it , better running , less heat , etc. It is more work and more money , but in the long run , you will be happy you did it . The wrap looks pretty nasty and weathered after awhile . |

Hey...your bike...you have to live with it..do what YOU want! Not what someone else thinks you should do...! As far as..."in the long run", or being "pretty nasty"..... The only part of my R1's wrapped header looking rough...is "under" the collector...and that's with just 99,086 miles on it..! And my 12S's has 8500+ miles and still looks new. My 1125CR's header still looks good at just over 15,2xx miles. One thing, the new "Titanium" wrap (by DEI I believe), is much tuffer than the old white material. Mike |

i'd go with ceramic coating, but each to their own |

Just keep riding it. Don't waste riding time on it. |

i had the exact same dilema with my 06 XB12R, so you now what i did... i ceramic coated the headers and i put wrap on top of that as well! you might think i'm crazy but i live in a really hot climate and boy does the bike run better.start with the ceramic coating and if that doesn't cure you heat problem you can always put the wrap on |
