Alright all, after getting this bike i decided I'd mod it out like my one friend has his, that being said, i just ordered my Jardine, and got it in the mail. Doing the swap later today, and i was wondering on whether or not, along with the K&N, will it run well, or to lean. Depending on costs from the local HD I will be getting a TPS reset also, or I'll be rigging my way to do one. *cough* ECMspy *cough*, main point of which being, if i use the stock ecm, will it run well, and not kill the bike or no? and if a no, shall i get a race ecm, and where in fact could i get a map for the bike with said mods?

It will be very lean with that pipe, and without a tuning. The EeBR ECM for $250 is the way to go there. If you are good with the ECM spy, then you can do it yourself. There are a few peeps around with a decent map, unfortunately, I am not one of them.

I wouldn't worry about running mods with a stock ECM.

For 9 months I ran a stock ECM with a Special OPS exhaust and K&N filter with no trouble. Maybe it's 'cause there is less air at 5300 feet above sea level? ; )

If you suspect you're running lean, check the condition of the spark plugs. Mine always looked normal.

I did eventually mount a race ECM. It did make a noticeable difference in overall performance.

Mr Chain -
Tell me....just how can you have it both ways with two different set of tuneup, maps (ECM's)?
Makes zero sense.

I can make small changes to my 12S's ECM and it goes from running terrible (to ME.....) to running great. I know the changes to the stock and the "race" ECM (I have both) aren't small...!

Just goes to show...one mans good, ok, fine tuneup is another mans...this thing needs work...!

Personally I didn't like how my bike ran with the stock or race maps. A custom map has it running quite well without the issues that many people seem to complain about.

YMMV

Mr. 1_mike: To clarify...

Stock ECM: Ran fine, i.e. not lean, which is what the original poster was interested in knowing.

Race ECM: Smoothed out the dip in the powerband around 4,000 RPM's, bit more grunt all around.

Maybe I should have said stock ECM "fine" and Race ECM "better"? : )

So, after zooming through the Maps Provided by Terry, I've decided to go ahead, and leave her stock ECM and EEPROM for now, waiting till after the holidays and i actually have cash again to get an Erik Buell Racing ECM, but until that point in time, she'll be running around a little lean from the sound of it, and atleast i have the TPS Zero'd from the feel of her. Thank you All! And, oh how i wish i was just a little bit above Sea Level, Rocking out at a good 1" here in Dela-Where? Gotta love not having a hill in sight for 10 miles
