So, I'm reviewing the damage from Saturday's crash. Doesn't look too bad/expensive. The oil cooler cover was ripped off and twisted the mounting plate where the cover is bolted to the cooler. Question: is that a metal that can be bent back straight? |

No, thanks for helping make it more clear. Your photo shows the plate the oil cooler assembly is fixed to. The oil cooler scoop, the plastic piece, bolts to a plate on the oil cooler itself. It's the plate/tab on the oil cooler that I'm asking about. btw, if that plate is bendable then the parts total is $100. |

Jezus. That's a heavy plate. How far is it bent? What does the rest of it look like? |

NO, it's not that plate. |

Hell, just try and bend it back. If it's bendable you win, if not, well you were going to have to buy it anyway. My guess is though, you can bend it if you're patient enough... |

Yeah, I know. It's the ordering thing. If it's a white metal, it's going to break. Might as well order one. If it's, what, copper, like the rest of the cooler, I'm golden. There's no need to order. Experiment tomorrow. |

a little heat. not too much... bend back. repaint to color of choice. I have fixed a few already.. They bend right back just fine. same issue on each from Low sides at the track. plus one when I had a bike fall off the pit bull stand. darn pin bent and poof it was on the floor. frame puck saved the day. bent the oil cooler tab though. fixed it same day. repainted silver. Thanks, figured it would be a typical low-side experience and somebody would have dealt with it before. |
