No, shipping is not in those prices. I made up amounts while perusing classifieds on this and BuellXB forum. There are many higher examples of prices. Goal is low fair-trade price for 1st quality used parts/assemblies. List items prices must be high: part-out Total sure seems so. Won't part it or give it away... just have to keep it 'til Spring. Poor me |

If I had $3200 sittin' around, I would buy your bike. I wish I had the funds to buy up some of these bikes for sale right now. Winter always beats up the market though. |

I think there's a Buell funk in the used market right now as well. First of all, everyone remembers the fire sale and thinks those prices are now the "real" values for our bikes; secondly, too many folks jumped into the market at those prices and bought bikes that they couldn't really afford - or more likely - were then victims of the crappy economy and in either case have been motivated to sell low just to unload debt. On top of that, all used prices are just starting to bounce back a bit - it's been tough for the last couple of years. The latest MCN value guide (just out this month) lists your bike at $4175. At least here in SoCal, MCNs prices (based on NADA) seem to be pretty accurate for what a bike finally sells at, not necessarily what people ask. I've see some Buells here in SD go for stupid low prices. Wish I had $20K and a warehouse! Unfortunately, I think it was kind of a "perfect storm" for our bikes with the combination of the closing and the economy. With any other car/motorcycle model, you see rebates from time to time (could have picked up an 09 Versys during the summer for $5K OTD) but the rebate price doesn't become the "new" price. Only because Buell closed did we not see a return to the original pricing, and the buyer's market in used Buells for the past year has reinforced a false perception of their value. You aren't going to find any Jap bikes, 1 yr old (with warranty remaining!) with all the features of a Buell selling for half MSRP. I don't suppose you can be patient and keep riding it; if you could pile on the miles it wouldn't hurt so much to sell a little lower. Otherwise, you might be right that parting it out might bring a higher return. |

Keith Wandell the commie is whats wrong. He oughta be deported. But in the meantime, you can guage parts prices by looking on ebay, the marketplace here and even buellster cuz they only deal with used parts. Can't believe your Bolt doesn't generate any interest at that price. I had to search for months to find my bolt at $4500 and that was a great deal. Give it some time, maybe the 1190RS release will generate a market surge for all things Buell. |

I ain't partin' it out, vultures! On the other hand, thank-you BadWeb community for your support. Today and for the last two years I've visited here at least three times a day. Buying the XB and figuring out how to get it running smoothly was technically rewarding. Virtually visiting here also rewarded me in various and often unexpected ways. These are wonderful motorcycles. Engine-transmission & its heritage are primary to chassis more obvious appeal. XB's represent (to me) the genuine evolution of Sportster lineage, all branding bullsh*t aside. You see, I just shook hands with Jack. He's buying the mighty XB, '04 XB12R. He & his dad looked it over. Jack wants a Buell because "it's different". He arrives with maybe five years on "dirt bikes, nothing for the street" experience. He and Dad paid attention when I explained how much benefit I gained, after riding forty years, upon taking community college motorcycle training classes, on the XB : ) Jack considers my offer to perform 10k service together, instead of trusting bike to unknown H-D/Buell dealership service department. Is he disappointed the H-D tie-in is not "golden"? I don't know. Gotta go listen to Hank Williams sing about broken hearts, and look for a KDX200 ... |
